HORTON FOOTE (Playwright) was awarded the National Medal of Arts Award from President Clinton in 2000, Mr. Foote’s prolific writing career began with his first play, Texas Town, produced Off-Broadway in 1941. Since then his plays have been produced on Broadway, Off-Broadway, Off Off-Broadway, and at many theaters around the country.
MICHAEL WILSON (Director) – Over a two -decade collaboration with Horton Foote, Wilson has directed Dividing The Estate (Broadway), the premieres of The Carpetbagger’s Children (Lincoln Center Theater), The Day Emily Married (Primary Stages), The Death of Papa (Hartford Stage) and The Orphans’ Home Cycle (Signature Theater), for which he received 2010 Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards.

The Trip to Bountiful marks a Broadway debut, having designed Off Broadway, Horton Foote’s The Widow Claire and the Pittsburgh Public Theatre’s premier of Habitation of Dragons.
Rui is fortunate to have created designs for the New York premieres of many of Horton Foote’s plays including Dividing the Estate (Primary Stages and LCT – Broadway), Orphans’ Home Cycle (Signature – Hewes Award), The Carpetbagger’s Children (LCT), The Day Emily Married (Primary Stages) – all with director Michael Wilson.
